Our Story
Upward Bridge Consulting grew from years of working with people in different settings, youth and families, professionals, community leaders, nonprofits, schools, and community-based programs. The work took different forms, from mental health and education to workforce development, leadership, and community engagement, but many of the same patterns kept showing up.
A program could be well designed and still struggle to reach the people it was created to serve. An organization could see one problem while the people experiencing it saw something different. Researchers and institutions could have important questions but struggle to reach the communities that could help answer them. Community leaders could be working toward similar goals without always being connected to one another.
Those experiences taught us that the first explanation is not always the full explanation. To understand what is happening, you have to listen to the people involved, understand the environment around them, and look at how the different pieces connect.
That is where Upward Bridge began. The name reflects the work itself. A bridge connects places that would otherwise remain separated. Our role is often similar: connecting information with action, communities with institutions, questions with the people who can help answer them, and challenges with practical next steps.
